“I like to document small, banal moments that we mostly forget to examine. I do this in drawings and paintings, mostly of my friends in my living room, but also of colleagues in work meetings, strangers on buses, and people who sit in front of me at the cinema. I tie each piece as specifically as possible to the moment it records, so that they serve as illustrations of a life rather than as portraits of a person.
My style is often a tug of war between my maximalist tendencies and an instinctual longing for simplicity.
Sports Bra Time is about the guilty pleasure of running the electric space heater, just for a few minutes, while I get changed on a cold day”.
